Product Update May 3, 2023
We are pleased to share the latest improvements in Tamr Cloud, including a new home page experience, insights into metrics, new filters, improved data product templates, updated account messaging for account changes, and improved address enrichment.
New Home Page Experience
The next time you sign in to Tamr Cloud, you’ll see a refreshed design on the first page to open. There’s an updated, streamlined experience for getting your work done, too. On this new home page, look for:
- Expanded More menu options for data products. Use this menu to select a data product and open the details you need to access in Studio, Designer, Curator, or Publish.
- Data product-first workflow: most options on the Menu are only available after you select a data product, making the workflow more efficient and easier to follow.
- “Sticky” selection: data products now stay selected as you work in Tamr Cloud. No need to reselect until you’re ready to move on to a different data product: select the logo at top left to return home and browse the data product tiles.
- More useful information on the data product tiles, including your access level and a status for the last mastering run.
- Improved messaging while Tamr Cloud creates a new data product.
- Add Data Product is always visible at bottom right, no scrolling required.
- Cues for getting started if you don’t have access to any data products yet.
Insights Page
In Curator, you can now find an Insights page detailing data metrics for your data products. For any data product, you can find a summary report based on the last mastering flow run. See Gaining Insights with Data Product Metrics for more.
Filter Entities by Pending Actions
In Curator, you can now filter mastered entities to show only those that contain value overrides, pending moves, and/or pending merges. Do this by selecting Filter by Condition in the top right. See Working with Tables for more.
Data Product Template Improvements
The following changes are available in newly created new data products:
B2B Site Mastering Template
- The template includes a new version of the address enrichment service, called Address Standardization, Validation, and Geocoding. This service provides powerful, accurate address matching, and returns a Google Place ID for matching addresses as well as location geocoding.
- The template now includes consideration of the URL in the clustering model, and provides Website domain standardization:
- We added
url
to the unified schema in the Schema Mapping step, as a standard, required attribute. - The clustering model now considers the similarity of url values when identifying source records that refer to the same entity.
- The template now includes a Standardize URL transformation, which provides a cleaned version of the website domain in
url
attribute values. The cleaned domain is available in theWebsite Domain
field in the mastered entity.
- We added
- Users now have more control over which records are clustered together. This template now includes a unified trusted_id attribute, to which you can map source columns that contain a unique record identifier, such as a Social Security Number or internal identification number. The model always cluster records with the same trusted_id together, and does not cluster records with different trusted_ids together. Records will null/empty trusted_ids are clustered with similar records as usual by the model, meaning that they may be clustered with records that have a trusted_id.

Updated Messaging for Account Changes
When you reset your password or add a new user, the verification request that is sent to the supplied email address is now valid for 30 minutes. Previously, expiration was set to 5 minutes. New styling appears for these messages as well.
Improved Address Enrichment
The Address Standardization, Validation, and Geocoding enrichment service has been improved to enrich records when multiple possible matching locations are found. Previously, the records would not be enriched with address data in this case, and the enriched_address_match_type
returned was non_match_input_ambiguous
. Now, Tamr Cloud selects the first match to enrich the records, and the enriched_address_match_type
returned is top_match
.
Other Recent Improvements
Curator
- Save Table Views for Reuse. See Working with Tables for more.
- Improved screen space to optimize viewing entities.
Fixed Issues
- The number of source datasets is shown as “--”. Run your flow to repopulate source metrics.
- Fixed issue in which clustered records were not rendering correctly in Curator.
