First Name Enrichment
First name enrichment examines first name values and identifies common variations and nicknames, for clustering purposes.
The first name enrichment service examines first name values, and, for clustering purposes only, identifies common first name variations and nicknames (for approximately 1,000 first names). For example, common variations for Robert include Rob, Robbie, and Bob. The clustering model uses the original first name value and the enriched values when evaluating first name similarity. These first name variations are not included in the data product output.
This service is included without additional licensing in the Contacts, Healthcare Providers, and B2C Customers data product template.
Output Attributes for First Name Enrichment
The values added by this enrichment service are used only by the clustering model, and are not included in the data product output.
For legacy data products, you can view the values added by this service by reviewing the step output for the Prepare for Clustering step; the ml_first_name
field contains both the original first name value and the variations added this enrichment service.
