Name Prefix Standardization

The Name Prefix Standardization data quality service improves match results by standardizing approximately 300 prefixes to common abbreviations. For source prefix values that are not matched to a defined abbreviation, the original prefix value is retained.

For example, Doctor, Doc, Dr, and Doctor (Medical) are all standardized to Dr..

Similarly, Chief Executive, Chief Executive Officer and CEO are all standardized to CEO.

This service is included without additional licensing in the following data product templates:

  • Contacts
  • Healthcare Providers

The standardized values provided by this service are included in the Enhanced Source Records dataset. See Publishing Data Products.
