Configuring a Data Product for Tamr RealTime

This topic describes how to set-up the Tamr RealTime datastore for a data product with the RealTime datastore, which involves the following steps:

  1. Configuring the batch data product and iterating until golden records are ready for the System of Record (SOR).
  2. Creating the Tamr RealTime SOR table and workflows required to promote changes to the SOR.
  3. Committing batch data to the new SOR table.
  4. Optionally publishing from the SOR table.

Step 1: Configure the Data Product

Configure and run the data product, following the instructions for the type of data product you are using. Review and curate the results.

Optionally, follow the instructions to setup publish configurations to publish the data product outputs to your downstream applications.

Iterate on the data product configuration and curation activities until your golden records are ready to be committed to the SOR.

Step 2: Create the SOR Table

On the Configure Data Product page for the data product, select Manage System of Record.

On the System of Record Management page, select Create Table.

Step 3: Promote the Batch Golden Record Data to the SOR Table

The System of Record Management page updates to include two new System of Record workflows, and an option to automatically update the SOR with each data product run.

For now, leave the automatic updates option disabled.

First, run the Stage Changes workflow by selecting Stage Changes. This workflow stages the updates from the latest data product run that will be applied to the SOR and provides the number of new, merged, and updated records.

After reviewing the number of changes that will be applied to the SOR, run the Apply Changes workflow. This workflow commits these updates to the SOR.

Depending on the number of changes, it may take a few moments after the Apply Changes job completes for the updated data to appear in 360 pages and via search operations.

Tip: The new workflows will also appear on the Configurations > Workflows page. On that page, uou can edit the workflow by choosing the pencil icon or run the workflow by choosing the Play icon. Alternatively, the workflows can be run using the Jobs API (see Jobs Overview).

(Optional) Step 4: Publish SOR Records
