NPPES Enrichment
NPPES enrichment adds detailed practice, credential, specialty, name, and other information to healthcare provider and organization entities.
The National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) is a comprehensive, uniform system for identifying and uniquely enumerating health care providers and plans at the national level. The NPPES enrichment service matches healthcare providers and healthcare organizations using National Plan Identifier (NPI) numbers and returns additional attributes, including the business and practice information, endpoints, and NPI lifecycle.
This service is included without additional licensing in the Healthcare Providers data product for provider data, and in the B2B Customers data product for healthcare organization data.
For health care organization mastering, we recommend mapping NPI numbers to "Registration Number" in the B2B Customers data product schema. Values mapped to "Registration Number" will be matched against the NPPES database. Match statuses for B2B Customers enrichment is available here.
NPPES Enrichment Attributes
The following attributes are provided by the enricher for each matching provider. When there is a tie in priority order, the ranking of records, or match status, is determined based on attribute similarity between the source and reference record in the NPPES corpus.
