For B2C Customers data products, Tamr can automatically identify household linkage between customers residing at the same address - enabling use cases such as household-level marketing, coordinated communications, and more accurate analytics and reporting.

With householding configured, Tamr discovers household relationships and assigns persistent Household IDs (rec_id) to all B2C records across all your disparate source systems. Tamr stores these relationships in a Households table, and displays household relationships on 360 pages.

Configuring Householding

Have you already created a System of Record?

If you have already created a SOR for your B2C Customers data product, contact Tamr at [email protected] for configuration assistance.

If you have not yet created a System of Record (SOR) for your data product, follow these steps to configure householding.

1. Configure and run the B2C Customers Data Product.

2. When the data product run completes, open the Configure Data Product page and select the Manage System of Record option.

3. On the System of Record Management page, select Create Table.
   The SOR table ID is shown on the page once the table has been created, and an option to Enable Householding appears.
   Do not apply changes to the SOR yet.

4. Select Enable Householding to create the households table. The Households table ID is shown on the page once the table has been created.

   

5. Apply the latest data product results to the SOR by running the workflows to Stage Changes and then Apply Changes.

   
   

As the SOR is populated with the latest data product results, Tamr automatically links records with the same address and assigns them to the same household.

As part of the Apply Changes workflow, every B2C Customer record (rec_id) is associated with a Household ID (rec_id).

Automatic Householding for New Records

When a new B2C Customer record is added to the SOR, Tamr automatically links the record to a new or existing household.
