Claude: Connecting to the Tamr MCP Server

You can use Claude Code and Claude Desktop with the Tamr MCP server.

Connecting Claude Code

Claude Code communicates natively with HTTP MCP servers. You can authenticate using OAuth or an API key.

OAuth Authentication:

claude mcp add --transport http tamr
https://<your-tenant>.tamr.cloud/mcp

Start claude, run /mcp, select tamr, and choose to authenticate. A browser window opens for sign-in.

API Key Authentication:

claude mcp add --transport http tamr https://<your-tenant>.tamr.cloud/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer apk_YOUR_TAMR_API_KEY"

Connecting Claude Desktop

You authenticate using OAuth.

OAuth Authentication:

Add the server as a custom connector using the URL https://<your-tenant>.tamr.cloud/mcp.

Sign in when prompted.

Verifying the Connection

To verify the connection, confirm that Claude returns the projects in your Tamr organization. Ask Claude to call tamr_list_projects. This call should return the Tamr Cloud projects you have permission to access.
