NPPES Organization Attributes

The National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) is a comprehensive, uniform system for identifying and uniquely enumerating health care providers and plans at the national level. The NPPES enrichment service matches healthcare organizations using National Plan Identifier (NPI) numbers and returns additional attributes, including the business and practice information, endpoints, and NPI lifecycle.

This service is available in the RealTime B2B Customers data product for healthcare organization data.

The following attributes are provided by NPPES enrichment.

By default, each attribute is prefaced with nppes_result_ when included in publish and curation views.

NPPES Organization Attribute	Description
match_result_tamr_enrich_id	The organization id (`org_id` ) of the matching NPPES reference record.
match_result_match_confidence	The level of confidence with which Tamr matched this NPPES reference record: Very high, high, medium, or low.
match_result_match_drivers	The attributes on which the record matched or partially matched to the NPPES reference record (company name, address attributes, phone, registration number, website, and so on).
npi	The National Provider Identifier, which is a unique 10-digit identification number issued to health care providers in the United States by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
entity_type_code	The type of provider (type 1 is an individual and type 2 is an organization).
replacement_npi	The replacement NPI, if the provider has been issued one.
provider_organization_name_legal_business_name	The legal business name of the provider’s organization.
provider_other_organization_name	The first other name used by this provider's organization, such as a former legal business name or another name under which the organization has done business.
provider_other_organization_name_type_code	The code that represents the type of other organization name for the first other name, such as a former legal business name.
provider_first_line_business_mailing_address	The first line of the provider’s business mailing address.
provider_second_line_business_mailing_address	The second line of the provider's business mailing address.
provider_business_mailing_address_city_name	The city name of the provider's business mailing address.
provider_business_mailing_address_state_name	The state name of the provider's business mailing address.
provider_business_mailing_address_postal_code	The postal code of the provider's business mailing address.
provider_business_mailing_address_country_code_if_outside_u_s	The country code of the provider's business mailing address, for addresses outside of the United States.

npi_reactivation_date	The date on which the NPI was reactivated.
provider_license_number_1	The provider's first medical license number.
provider_license_number_2	The provider's second medical license number.
provider_license_number_3	The provider's third medical license number.
provider_license_number_4	The provider's fourth medical license number.
provider_license_number_5	The provider's fifth medical license number.
