The National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) is a comprehensive, uniform system for identifying and uniquely enumerating health care providers and plans at the national level.

The NPPES Provider Lookup enrichment service matches your healthcare provider records against the NPPES registry, returning each provider’s NPI, license, contact, and address attributes.

This enrichment service is available in the RealTime Healthcare Providers data product.

NPPES Provider Lookup Enrichment Attributes

Tamr returns a number of enrichment attributes for each matched provider:

nppes_replacement_npi	The replacement NPI, if the provider has been issued one.
nppes_employer_identification_number_ein	The Employer Identification Number, which is a nine-digit number assigned by the IRS.
nppes_provider_organization_name_legal_business_name	The legal business name of the provider’s organization.
nppes_provider_last_name_legal_name	The provider's legal last name.
