About the Tamr Cloud MCP Server

Important: The Tamr MCP Server tools utilize the Tamr Cloud APIs to complete your requests. These calls count towards the number of allowed requests per second for your tenant.

The Tamr Model Context Protocol (MCP) server allows AI agents, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, to work directly with your Tamr Cloud data.

By connecting your MCP client to your Tamr Cloud tenant, you can:

  • Browse projects and tables: List your tenant's projects and the tables in each, and inspect a table's schema.
  • Search and retrieve records: Fuzzy, entity-resolution-aware search across any table you have access to, exact-match lookups by field value, and direct record lookups by ID.
  • Trace history and relationships: Pull a record's change history or see what it's connected to (contacts, subsidiaries, related entities), including across tables.
  • Suggest corrections and merges: Propose an edit to a record, or propose merging two duplicate records. Both go to an approval queue for a data steward to review.
  • Work approval queues: Find queues, list items pending review, and apply or dismiss them.
  • Monitor data pipelines: Check whether loads, data product refreshes, and publishes are running, succeeded, or failed.

The Tamr MCP server for your tenant is available at https://<your-tenant>.tamr.cloud/mcp. It follows the Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI assistants to outside tools and data. Messages travel between the AI client and the Tamr MCP server over Streamable HTTP.

Supported Authentication Methods

Depending on the client, you can authenticate with a Tamr API key or by signing in with your Tamr account (OAuth). Credentials travel with each request and are never stored server-side.
